Dieudonne Disi failed to participate in Saturday’s FBK-Games held in Hengelo, Netherlands due to fatigue.

Rwanda’s long distance ace, who had been registered for the FBK-Games made a last minute withdrawal.

Disi, 27, who returned home on Saturday aboard Sabena Airlines told Times Sport yesterday that he over trained ahead of the event.

"Since I withdrew from the Qatar World 10km race because of fatigue, I have not been feeling well. I think I over-trained for the event," Disi acknowledged.

The 10.000m national champion was expected to take part in the Hengelo Grand Prix on the expense of the Ablaham RSA 10 km race set for May 27 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

He had lined up the Hengelo Grand Prix as part of his preparations for this year’s Beijing Olympic Games set for August 8-24 in China.

Early this month, the 27-year-old finished fifth in the USA Lilac Blooms day 12km race.

Disi (10.000m) and Epiphanie Nyirabarame (marathon) are the two athletes who have so far qualified for the Games.

Meanwhile, Ethiopia’s Sihine Sileshi won the 10000m event in the FBK-Games title, clocking 26:50:53 while World marathon record holder and two-time Olympic and four-time World 10,000m champion Haile Gebrselassie came second in a time of 26:51:20.

Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge was third in a time of 26:54.32.
