RWAMAGANA–Rwamagana District hospital over the weekend celebrated the International Day of the sick with a call to make it everyone’s concern to help them. Addressing hundreds of residents and patients at the hospital, Joseph Sebitereko, a social worker at the hospital, said the day was a sign that the world cares about the sick."It is a day to show everybody’s concern for the sick...it is when you are sick that you will know who cares for you. In celebrating the day, we demonstrate that we care for the sick in our communities. There are those who are very poor and cannot even afford the 10 per cent payment under Mutuelle de Sante. You may also find yourself in dire need of medical care, while you are penniless, particularly in case of an accident, Amahoro association fund will cater for you”.The hospital staff  has initiated an association known as Rwamagana Amahoro Association to serve needy patients. The hospital that was built in 1950 has a capacity to accommodate 218 patients.
