ORMER Amavubi striker Said Abed Makasi has completed his move from Rayon Sport to newly promoted Espoir FC for an undisclosed fee.The veteran forward, who was part of the Amavubi Stars team that played in the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, signed a two-year contract.While confirming the capture of Makasi, Espoir head coach Hamis ‘Kishi’ Sogonya told Times Sport that he is delighted to have the vastly experienced striker on his books as the Rusizi-based team seeks to become a permanent side in the top flight league."I am happy to have him here as we are building a team that can compete well not only in the coming season but for many years to come. We want to challenge the big teams,” Kishi told Times Sport.Kishi, who signed a two-year contract just recently, has also added experienced campaigners including midfielder Mbanyi Ndayisenga from Rayon Sport, striker Theoneste Muhayimana from Kiyovu and defender Aimable ‘Mambo’ Rucogoza from Rayon.Saidi Abed Makasi played for Express FC (Uganda) from 1999-2000 where he played 24 games and scored 7 goals before joining AS Kigali (then Renaissance Kigali) in 2001 in a surprise move, he played 13 games and scored 1 goal, before leaving the club the same year. He also played for Kampala City Council FC (Uganda) where he played 22 games and scored nine goals and SC Villa whom he played for 19 games and scored 8 goals. In 2004, he joined FC Brussels and, after just one season, he signed for Turkish club Sakaryaspor; a year later, he joined Hapoel Petah Tikva in Israel, and the following season, he became a Maccabi Herzliya player.The DR Congo-born player also played for Hapoel Be’er Sheva F.C. in 2009, Moroccan side Difaa El Jadida, where he played 31 scored 10 goals, before joining Rayon Sport in 2010.
