Despite major hurdles in some countries with teachers being on strike, life somehow has to continue.Any parent knows better what happens when children are on holiday. They create a lot of mess in and around the house but mainly in their rooms. Most of the times you cannot tell whether it is a room or a playground. Now with the schools opens, it is time to bring back sanity in these rooms.Even though we would want to be very strict on children, about keeping everything in order, somehow they manage to get their way and mess up when we are not looking. Organizing children rooms can be a major hurdle for parents. It can seem like a constant battle to get children to clean up after themselves and keep things organized; but it has to be done. Children ought to be reminded time and again how to perform the small chores, like helping to organizing their rooms.Sleeping areaWhen starting to organize these rooms, first thing is to remove all the beddings and taken out to be aired. During the holidays we tend to have friends of our children during the sleep-overs. When you have a visitor whether friends or family; usually you cannot do much. So once they have gone back to their homes, and children spend the whole day in school, its good time to re-organize the rooms.Study areaIt is time for reality count of what is missing in children’s library and to organize the place. When organizing this area, you must consider leaving enough space on the homework table. Keeping things like pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, exercise books, e.t.c in one place can be an uphill task. But they can be grouped together for ease of reference.Play areaA play area is a place with a specific design for children to be able to play there. This place can be indoors or outdoors, depending on the space available. This area should be organized according to your children’s ages. It will be unfair if you mix a five year child with that of thirteen years. These two have nothing in common when it comes to some games, apart from very few games that are shared among siblings.Recreational areaChildren need time for recreational activities; they can draw, paint or even learn how to play musical instruments in their designated recreational area. Children get tired of the routine that life has pushed us to. It is good to interact with your children to find out what exactly it is that enjoy doing during their recreational time. This way you will find some things about your child that you would not know in a million years. This is also the time that parents realize that each child is gifted differently. This is an avenue to nurture their talents. This activity can also be fun if you train your children to participate in cleaning after their mess, you can make it a fun activity for the whole family.
