Editor,I wish to respond to a story published in The New Times of September, 12, titled "Construction firms penalized for shoddy work”. It’s sad to learn that companies contracted to build houses for vulnerable survivors decided to build substandard houses.  Survivors suffered enough and we don’t want to see them suffer again. What is hurtful is the fact that the project aimed at reaching out to all the people who have had a dreadfully painful past helped some people who were not supposed to benefit. While I appreciate the government’s efforts to recover the lost funds, all these firms involved should be blacklisted.I encourage the government to invest more money into the housing projects to ensure that the survivors live decently and in a way help lessen the emotional scars associated with the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.Eugene NgaboNyamata
