After spending the last seven months on the sidelines with a knee injury, midfielder Andrew Buteera has started training without pain, according to doctor Patrick Rutamu.The young Rwandan international, who plays for Proline FC in the Uganda Super League, has been out since last December when he damaged his knee cruciate ligament while playing for Amavubi Star.a"We have been careful with him because he is a young player and we have been trying to protect and help him to come back stronger and to play regularly again.He is a disciplined player, who recognizses the need to stay calm and disciplined so that he is able to get back to his best form,” Rutamu, who has been following the injury very closely, told this paper on Saturday.The 18-year-old picked up the injury during last year’s Cecafa Challenge Cup final between Amavubi and the Uganda Cranes."He is a strong player and has now he started training well without any pain,” Rutamu explained. Buteera has been consistently linked with a move to local league champions APR FC.Another junior wasps player, who has been laid low by injury, Ibrahim Itangishaka, has joined AS Kigali. The defender, who was part of the U17 team that played at last year’s World Cup in Mexico, has been out since last July with a knee injury.
