Police FC’s hopes of signing Rayon Sport striker Jerome Sina have been dealt a blow after the Blues’ Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya said the player is not for sale.Sina, along with Burundian international Fuadi Ndayisenga, have been missing from Rayon pre-season training, which fuelled speculation that the former is on his way out, with Police the likely destination.Last week, Police club chairman Alphonse Katarebe told this paper that they were interested in getting Sina in their books, but that any deal would depend on Rayon’s willingness to sell.Last year’s Peace Cup finalists thought they were close to getting their man but those hopes have been thrown out of the window by Gakwaya, who maintains that the player, who still has one year left on his contract, is not going anywhere. "We have not discussed anything with Police regarding Sina, and what I know is that the player still has one year remaining on his contract and we’re not selling him,” Gakwaya said.He noted, "We cannot afford to lose a good player like Sina as we are in the process of building a strong team to challenge for or titles, so he will play for us next season.” Last season, Sina was one of Rayon’s outstanding players, scoring ten league goals and also became a regular member on the national team.
