APR coach Ben Moussa wants to win Saturday’s 2023 Peace Cup final against Rayon Sports to cap off the season with the cup and league title double.
The thirteen-time Peace Cup winners stormed to the final of this year’s edition after edging SC Kiyovu Sports 2-1 in a scintillating semi final return leg to eliminate the Mumena-based side with a 3 – 2 victory on aggregate.
The military side take on Rayon Sports on Saturday in what promises to be a much-heated Peace Cup final.
APR are still celebrating the league title they won last weekend but Moussa insists that his side’s business is not finished yet until they win the Cup.
"We had a great season so far after winning the league title but we still have the fight ahead of us. It was a tough season but it was a wonderful experience for everyone,” the Moroccan tactician said.
"We got to the final of the Peace Cup and this is a golden opportunity for us to win it again. We are playing against a difficult side. Rayon Sports are one of the best teams we have in the Rwandan league and you know what that means.”
Rayon Sports reached the final after eliminating Mukura Victory Sport on a 4-3 aggregate victory in the semifinals. They Blues are guaranteed a ticket to the CAF confederation Cup next season but they want to beat APR for the second time in a row and clinch the Peace Cup in style.
But Moussa insists that his men are ready to win every major trophy that is there to contest for this season.
"We are determined to win the title. We will give that final all it takes – we will give ourselves and passion to our supporters so that we can win the second trophy for our team,” he noted.
This year’s Peace Cup will be either APR’s 14th or Rayon Sports’ 11th in the bag.
