THIS year’s Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup will be hosted by Uganda, not Kenya even as some people continue to bring confusion over the hosting rights, says Chairman Leodegar Tenga.Early this week, there were reports that Cecafa Congress in Mahe, Seychelles accepted Kenya’s petition over the hosting rights. Kenya had petitioned the Congress after Cecafa decided to give Uganda the hosting rights of this year’s tournament. In a press release, Tenga said that they convened a special meeting in Seychelles which was attended by all the 12 members of the zone."I updated the members on the situation of the 2012 Cecafa-Tusker Cup.  In view of the controversy surrounding the host of the 2012 event, the special meeting mandated me to convene the Executive Committee in the shortest time possible and issue a comprehensive report to clarify the matter once and for all stating the clear position of Cecafa.” "It was agreed that Uganda will continue in their preparations to host the event,” added Tenga.Last month, Tusker announced a sponsorship package of US$450,000 for the tournament in Kampala. The Federation of Uganda Football have already formed a local organising committee to start preparations. With just over two months before the scheduled start of the tournament on November 24, time appears to have run out for FKF to regain the hosting rights.
