Minaloc gets new Permanent Secretary

A cabinet meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame on Wednesday appointed Vincent Munyeshyaka as the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government (Minaloc).

A cabinet meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame on Wednesday appointed Vincent Munyeshyaka as the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government (Minaloc). Munyeshyaka replaces Cyrille Turatsinze who was dropped after being charged in court for corruption, though he was later acquitted after the prosecution failed to prove its case. Turatsinze was arrested on July 21 following allegations that he solicited a bribe worth Rwf 2 million from an unidentified businessman to help him win tenders of supplying IT equipments to the Ministry of Local Government.The Cabinet meeting also made several appointments including Board Committees of several institutions. Mark Nkurunziza is the new Chief Finance Officer at RDB while Ambassador Jacqueline Mukangira, who has been the Director of Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was appointed the Director General of Research at the Senate. Monique Nsanzabaganwa was appointed board Chairperson of the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda while Dr Emmanuel Nkurunziza is the new board chairperson of Rwanda Housing Authority. The Cabinet meeting approved a ministerial decree authorising Rwanda Tourism College to issue Bachelor’s Degrees and also endorsed a bill establishing the University of Rwanda that will bring under one roof all state institutions.
