Dear editor,
It comes as good news that our country has been the11th most peaceful country out of 30 in Africa according to the Global Peace Index. Considering the turbulent past of Rwanda this comes as great news.
The fact that Africa was known as the ‘Dark Continent’ full of uprisings of war, famine, poverty, corruption and power hungry leaders still haunts us. Making peace is becoming a reality so far to fetch.
Wars, conflicts and violence are all we keep hearing about countries like; Sudan, South Africa, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya. If there are no wars you hear of corrupt and selfish leaders like the case is in Zimbabwe and many others.
Good leaders in Africa are just a chosen few and are gifts from God. Other African leaders should follow their examples. This is when African can develop.
