Students in secondary schools yesterday started reporting back to their respective schools in different parts of the country for their third term.According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, the students will go back to school in three shifts.The first batch that left yesterday comprise of students from the districts of Nyanza, Ruhango, Huye and Muhanga in the Southern Province.Other students who left yesterday are from Rusizi and Nyamasheke districts in the Western Province and those from Gasabo, Nyarugenge and Kicukiro districts in Kigali City."The second batch that goes today is made up of students from the districts of Nyaruguru, Gisagara, Kamonyi and Nyamagabe in the Southern Province and students from Karongi, Rutsiro, Ngororero, Rubavu and Nyabihu in the Western Province,” reads the statement.Students studying at schools in the Northern and Eastern provinces will go back to school on Sunday, according to the press release.The Ministry of Education also ordered the students to put on their school uniforms and have their identity cards when they go to school.In the press release, the State Minister in charge of Primary and Secondary Education, Dr Mathias Harebamungu called upon head teachers around the country to collaborate with public transport companies to easily transport the students to their schools.Speaking to The New Times yesterday at Nyabugogo taxi and bus park, Darius Harindimana, a student at Groupe Scolaire de Nyanza said the new arrangement has addressed the problem of hiking transport fares by public transport companies, saying that this should be maintained.
