Editor,This letter is with reference to your very interesting article, titled "Diplomatic Missions exporting Rwanda’s culture (The New Times, August, 31). Please allow me to share with your readers that the Indian Merchants’ Chamber, a Premier Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the country, established over 100 years ago – in 1907 to be specific – has invited Rwandan youth from the neighbouring city of Pune to come and perform at the Chamber for the forthcoming World Tourism Day celebrations on September, 27, 2012.It is interesting to note that the last time we had Rwandan dancers in our city was when Vincent Karega, the then Minister of Infrastructure and now Rwanda’s High Commissioner to South Africa, led a delegation from the Rwanda Development Board and the Private Sector Federation on a Road Show here. The Chamber has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rwanda Private Sector Federation and it will be our endeavour to promote Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage through such performances in Mumbai – the business capital of the country.Clarence Fernandes
