American point guard Adonis Filer scored a game high 22 points as Rwanda Energy Group (REG) registered a 71-66 victory over APR on Friday evening to reach the finals of this year's playoffs.

The two teams came into the ultimate game of the best-of-three semifinals locked on a win each, registered from the 2 games they had played last week.

During the decisive game that was played at Stecol Court in Kigali, the scoring heroics of Filer, coupled with more contributions from Olivier Shyaka and Axel Mpoyo who scored 10 points apiece, gave REG a way to the finals, despite the fact that APR tried hard.

For the army side, Rwandan international Armel Sangwe scored 18 points as his team tried to put up a fight, although things didn't go as they wished.

REG will now square off with The Patriots in a best-of-five finals that will get underway starting from next week at the BK Arena
