Green technology comes to Rwanda

A multimillion ICT firm, Connexions Africa, on Wednesday evening announced its entry into the Rwandan market, its first operation outside its headquarters in Port Louis, Mauritius.

A multimillion ICT firm, Connexions Africa, on Wednesday evening announced its entry into the Rwandan market, its first operation outside its headquarters in Port Louis, Mauritius.Connexions Africa launched its presence in Kigali with a strong focus on green technology, cost-effective software applications and professional services.Manoj Boolakee, the CEO of Connexions Africa, said Rwanda was chosen as its second base because of the favourable environment that the government has put in place for business growth and priority the government has give to ICT sector."Two years ago, we embarked on expanding our business in Africa and Rwanda became our first destination because the country is promoting the use of ICT in its development process,” he added.He stated that his company will be platform for skilled and passionate professionals interested in discovering and delivering green efficient and cost effective technologies.The company provides technology solutions for infrastructure technology, software applications and professional services. among others.Connexions Africa partners with major IT firms like Fujitsu, HP and OKI to promote — from high-end computing to end-user — technology."I visited Rwanda several times and I was very impressed by the infrastructure present and the political will to promote ICT. We are committed to contribute to the growth of ICT sector in this country,” Boolakee noted.The launch was also attended by the Minister of Youth and ICT, Jean Philbert Nsengimana."Connexions Africa’s core competencies are in the areas of our most pressing needs and also corresponding business opportunities, the service model driven technologies and green technologies,” Nsengimana said.
