19 Rwandan students have acquired scholarships to pursue their masters’ degrees at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT).In an interview with The New Times yesterday, Victor Nshunguyimfura, the president of the Rwanda Diaspora Global Network (RDGN) in China, said the students include those who have already been studying different engineering courses at BIT for the last four years.He said that the beneficiaries are part of 23 students who were sent by the government through the Students Financing Agency for Rwanda (SFAR) to study at BIT and that after excelling academically in their respective courses, the university decided to offer them masters degree scholarships.Nshunguyimfura noted that the students have been studying electronics, industrial chemistry, electrical and automation, micro electronics, computer science, among others.They also study biomedical engineering, computer applied technology, communication and information systems, detection technology and automatic equipment.Nshunguyimfura said that they will begin their next month and the courses will be completed in a period of two and a half years."Through RDGN in China, we are planning to facilitate more students to study in China because there are many Chinese universities which are willing to offer scholarships and I believe this will contribute a lot to our national development in the future” Nshunguyimfura said.
