JUST a fortnight after finalising his move from APR to Yanga in a two year-deal, Mbuyu Twite has warned rival clubs, including sworn enemy Simba Sports Club, that he joined the Kagame Cup champions to win more trophies.In his first interview with Times Sport after the switch, the Rwandan international said he wants to make history with Yanga and was looking forward to the new challenge.The versatile defender stated that he hopes to help his new team to reclaim the Tanzanian Vodafone Premier title from Simba as well as retaining the Kagame Cup, which Yanga has won in the last two years, and also to do better on the continent."I am a winner, so I am here to win trophies,” the former APR captain told Times Sport yesterday by phone from Dar es Salaam.Mbuyu added, "Yanga is a massive club which has a high profile, and I am looking forward to winning more trophies with this team. I won so many trophies with APR and I want to win even more with Yanga.” Mbuyu spent five years at the military side, whom he joined from Saint Eloi Lupopo of DR Congo along with his twin brother Kabange Twite and won four league titles, five Peace Cups and two Kagame Cup title.The DR Congo-born star, who has been one of APR’s best signing in the club’s history, joined Yanga in a reported deal estimated to be around US$50,000 (about Rwf30m).Yanga beat off stiff competition from archrivals Simba to Mbuyu’s signature. Yanga have been in Rwanda on a week-long pre-season, which saw them beat Primus National Football League sides Rayon Sport 2-0 and Police 2-1 in their two friendly matches as they prepare for the new Tanzania Mainland Premier League 2012/2013 season which is slated to start on September 1.
