PRIMUS National Football League and MTN Peace Cup champions APR FC are close to signing eight out of the sixteen players that were recently released by Isonga FC.The move comes after Isonga announced they are ready to release 16 players in order to give room for other younger players from the U-17 team to join the youthful side, which is also the national U-20 team.APR Secretary General, Adolphe Kalisa confirmed the reports saying the military side has already opened talks with the eight players, but none had signed any contract yet.APR, who have been heavily criticized for being the club with the highest number of foreign players in the country, are looking to bolster their squad with home grown talent ahead of the new season, which is scheduled to kicks off on September 15.The league champions started preseason training on Thursday under their new coach Eric Nshimiyimana, who replaced Dutchman Ernest Brandts whose contract expired on July 31.Among the players who attended the first day of training were former Isonga skipper Emery Bayisenge, striker Jacques Cyubahiro, left back François Hakizimana, as well as midfielders Eric Nsabimana, Michel Rusheshangoga, Isaak Muganza, Faouk Saifi Ruhinda and Steven Ntalibi.APR has released the majority of the foreign players on their books as the club embarks on its new policy of using mainly Rwandan players. The rest of the players who have been released by Isonga FC are in talks with other local teams. They include; Hamidu Ndayisaba, Héritier Turatsinze, Shadad Nsengayire (who are training with Sec Academy) as well as Abdoul Sibomana, Justin Mico, Marcel Nzarora and Eugène Habyarimana.
