Rwamagana–Prime Minister, Dr. Pierre Damien Habumuremyi, has urged Rwandans to love their country by showing high level devotion to its development. The PM said this while addressing residents of Kitazigurwa village in Rwamagana District yesterday. Referring to recently the introduced Agaciro development fund, the PM reiterated the need for Rwandans to live in dignity."We have a country and this should be our pride...it gives us the dignity we deserve. All of us owe this country much, which is why we must support it. We can’t afford to live on handouts”.The PM joined the residents in construction of houses at an upcoming Kitazigurwa model village. The village that will accommodate needy families has basic infrastructure, built with the support of Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) engineers.He said most of Rwanda was fertile enough to promote agriculture, adding that it was "the backbone of the country’s economy”.Habumuremyi noted that the country’s leadership showed great care for its citizens that many people envy."I have travelled across the world, but no country builds for its people as Rwanda. Girinka, education for all, bursaries based on merit, etc, makes as exemplary,” he said.He, however, took the opportunity to warn grassroots leaders who offered poor services to the people."It is on record that some leaders aren’t offering services as they should...time is running out for them. They must reform forthwith”.He also warned religious sects that keep people in poverty with awkward doctrines and teachings. "The so called Abanyakabera and Abagorozi sects have stopped people from using national IDs, health insurance, telephones, etc. We are watching closely as we think of a quick solution to such funny beliefs”.
