Knowless to perform in the Netherlands

Upcoming R&B diva Knowless has been invited to perform at a charity concert in Holland on September 8 to support orphans of HIV/AIDS in East Africa.Knowless, who has been actively participating in various charity activities in the country, was invited by Ugandans living in the European nation.The event is expected to bring together hundreds of Ugandans and friends of East Africa across Holland, with a common goal of supporting East African children. The event will also honour outstanding members of the Diaspora as well as celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pearl of Africa – Uganda.Speaking to The New Times, yesterday, the 2010 Salax Award Best New Artiste confirmed her trip to Europe. She said that all the proceeds from the concert would go towards supporting the HIV/AIDS orphans in East Africa. "The Ugandan Diaspora in Holland invited me to perform at a charity concert aimed at supporting orphans of the HIV/AIDS in East Africa,” said Knowless, born Jane Ingabire Butera. "I am utterly blessed to be part of this activity of supporting the orphans in our region.”The R&B/ Afro fusion singer is expected to travel on Saturday, September 1 and return        on Sept 10.The aim of the concert is to make a big impact in the history of the East African community in the Diaspora.Elsewhere in Belgium, regional hit maker Dr. Jose Chameleone will perform at the 2012 Miss East Africa Belgium grand finale slated for September 1.The event will be held at the Birmingham Palace: Rue de Birmingham 112, 1070 BXL, with DJs Princess Flor, Ems, AZ and Ike Naijamostwanted. The 2012 Miss East Africa Belgium is organised by Exotic Night.Contestants competing for this year’s title are drawn from nine countries including; Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya and Djibouti, among others.The Miss East Africa Belgium beauty contest is open to all women of African origin residing in Belgium. The main objective of the beauty pageant, according to Exotic Night, is to showcase the culture and beauty of East Africa in Belgium with the winners of the  contest normally referred to as beauty queens.
