Indorwa won by 68 runs

Emma Byiringiro blazed 70 runs off 49 balls but it wasn’t enough to propel Right Guards to their first Sulfo League win on Sunday.

An inspired and focused Indorwa side won the game by 68 runs, thanks to Budhwani Sameer who picked five wickets to earn his club an extra point.

Nayah Patel’s patient half century (56) also received good support from Romesh Thakkar (29) and Sameer (20).

Derrick Bayingana impressed on his Right Guards’ debut after picking three wickets and although his new team lost, the 16-year-old high school student is confident that it won’t be long before the team starts winning.

"I’m happy with my performance but it counts for nothing if the team loses. But I think we have the potential,” he said.

On the other hand, the Indorwa captain Thakkar hailed his side for the win and warned other clubs to be on the look out for them.
