The Forgiveness of Blood, directed by Joshua Marston is about the victim of adult pig-headedness. Nik (Tristan Hallilaj), a fun-loving but ambitious teenager’s plans to open an internet cafe are cut short when his father Mark (Refet Abazi) gets into a fight with a neighbor who inherited land Nik’s family have owned for generations.Mark stabs the man to death, forcing him to go into hiding and leaving his family as targets for a vendetta. In particular, the killing triggers an age-old law dictating that the injured party has the right to seek retribution by killing a male from the murderer’s family.However, the law also states that if the targeted family keeps respectfully out of sight then they will be allowed to live - a horrendous situation which condemns the mother and her children to penury and ruins Nik’s chance of meeting his friends, finishing school and pursuing his romance with a lovely classmate.While Nik wallows, building a gym on the roof of his home and fighting with his little brother, his younger sister (Sindi Lacej) becomes the family’s sole provider, taking over the bread-delivery business in the face of threats from aggrieved family.
