HUYE – As a way of creating awareness for public services, Huye District will early next month hold a three-day public exhibition to showcase its services and development projects.The exhibition that is slated for September 5 to 7, according to officials, will also feature Non Governmental Organisations, local businesses, public institutions and cooperatives.Leon Pierre Kayitare, a member of Huye District Joint Action Development Forum (JADF) told The New Times, they are targeting between 50 and 60 exhibitors.JADF is a district consultative platform for information-sharing and cooperation among the different actors involved in socio-economic development process. It brings together local leaders and all development partners.According to Kayitare, the exhibition will be an occasion to interact with the community they serve."We want the many actors operating in the district to bring to light their programmes and to show the population the impact they are making”, Kayitare said."We think it is kind of promoting the culture of accountability among the District partners”.The district Mayor, Kayiranga Muzuka Eugene, said the population will benefit from the mini- exhibition.He noted that the local population will get an opportunity to learn what activities the various organisations operating in the district are involved in.A similar exhibition was last held in the district in 2010.
