In the realm of entertainment, few experiences rival the exhilaration of a stand-up comedy show. On one such memorable evening, the renowned Seka Live show played host to an extraordinary lineup of comedians who left the audience yearning for more. With their wit, charisma, and razor-sharp delivery, these comedic maestros effortlessly took the crowd on a rollercoaster ride of laughter, creating an unforgettable night of entertainment.

During Seka Live, comedy found its home in Kigali again after a six months hiatus. It started off with performances of rising stars from Gen Z who were given a platform to shine at the comedy show.

The duo of Mavide and Pazo coming on stage dancing with their delightful charm and razor-sharp wit, had the audience hanging on their every word. Their clever wordplay, hilarious character impressions, and effortless stage presence made them an instant favorite among the crowd. The applause that followed them echoed throughout the night.

In a full 75 minute show, comedic maestro, Daniel Omara had everyone’s attention while cracking childhood jokes that many related to.

"Rwanda is so on point in everything and it's annoying that even your metal detectors actually work. In Uganda we don’t listen to what the detectors say even if it makes the sound they still let you go. You might not understand what doing a special in Kigali means to me but it is a major milestone because in Uganda no one will like you if you don’t travel abroad,” he joked.

Photographer Promesse Kamanda surprised the audience with a performance as she cracked jokes about how her dad was her biggest supporter.

"I don’t get how old people used to name their kids names that were not good fit for babies who were just born. Imagine holding a child and playing with him but you can’t say his name because he was named Charles, why would you name an innocent little baby Charles (Karori),” she joked.

Ambassador w’abakonsomateri, a master of observational humor also had the crowd in stitches with his keen eye for the absurdities of everyday life. His relatable anecdotes and impeccable timing struck a chord with the audience, leaving them craving more of the thoughtful jokes.

Comedian Rusine was the last to perform, coming up with his little sister as they danced their way on stage, the audience were delighted to see the comedian.

"The police station was the nearest place for me to stay while I waited for the rain to stop, so I asked an officer to let me wait in the prison room but unfortunately I fell asleep. The next morning when I woke up I was shocked to find myself locked with prisoners and the officer had gone home to rest,” he joked.

Rusine only used Kinyarwanda during his entire time on stage as he joked to those who don’t understand it that they should pay him first if they wanted him to joke in a foreign language so that they could understand.

Nonetheless, his time on stage seemed too short for revelers who still wanted to watch him perform once more.

The lineup of comedians at Seka Live featured a diverse array of comedic styles, each artist bringing their unique flavor to the stage. From quick-witted one-liners to captivating storytelling, the performers captivated the audience from start to finish.

The show ended half past 10:35pm.
