AMAVUBI Stars forward Meddie Kagere left Kigali for North Africa on Friday to officially join Tunisian Premier League club Espérance Sportive de Zarzis.Speaking to Times Sport before his departure, Kagere said, "I am delighted to have sealed a professional move to Espérance Sportive de Zarzis, and I am looking forward to making my professional dream a successful”."This is going to be a good experience personally as a player, but the experience I will bring to Amavubi will be vital too."I believe we can take our national team to a higher level, but first, I wish many more Rwandan players can get chances to play as professionals such that we can be able to take Rwandan football to another level,” noted Kagere, who moved to Tunis with his family to prepare for the new season.The former Police FC captain signed a two-year contract last week valued at $150,000.Espérance Sportive de Zarzis finished tenth with 24 points in 24 matches in the 2011–12 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1.The 26-year-old Amavubi international has spent two seasons at Police, scoring 28 goals in two Primus League seasons.He has since become a regular for Amavubi and a talisman for Police, spearheading their good run in the last two seasons and often delivering. His goals were particularly instrumental in bringing Police within touching distance of their first league title this season as well as MTN Peace Cup.The former Atraco forward was previously linked to Tanzania giants Yanga, Gor Mahia of Kenya, APR and St. George of Ethiopia.
