Editor, I read in The New Times of August 14 that a Rwanda Genocide Widows Association, Avega-Agahozo, had identified the well-being of elderly widows of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi as a major challenge.
Editor,I read in The New Times of August 14 that a Rwanda Genocide Widows Association, Avega-Agahozo, had identified the well-being of elderly widows of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi as a major challenge. It is true that most of these elderly widows do experience serious challenges. Some don’t have food while others are sick. They live a lonely life. While it’s true that the government is extending a helping hand to these people, a lot more needs to be done. They need our help and I know it is possible if we put our heads together.Thank you Avega-Agahozo for highlighting this pressing reality -- there is nothing stronger than the prayers and goodwill of our seniors. May the Almighty God empower us with all the resources necessary to provide comfortable and productive environments for these hidden VIPs of our nations.Margaret S. Maringa
