After being endorsed by Ezra Bunyenyezi, it was all over for Aimable Karyabwite as Jack Kayonga became the new Kigali Golf Club president after claiming an overwhelming 92 votes leaving just 16 for his opponent.

Bunyenyezi made Kayonga’s task even easier after pulling out of the race just moments before the elections that attracted a full house.

Before handing over to the new executive, Bunyenyezi thanked his team for the good cooperation he was offered during his term of office. In particular, he thanked the club’s outgoing treasurer Franco Nkumba and course member Charles Ntare for the services they rendered to the club.

He also urged the new committee to be an example to the rest.

"I want to congratulate Jack and his team and I’m confident that they will deliver," he said.

In Kayonga’s brief speech, he thanked Karyabwite for conceding defeat but accepting to work with the new executive to achieve the club’s set goals.

"I’m going to work with my team and we believe we shall not let you down but if we do, we shall not hesitate to resign,"

Kayonga assured the golfing fraternity.

Charles Gahima beat Rajan Tiwari for the vice presidency while Vicky Suazo became the new lady member after securing a 10-vote lead over Claire Kayitesi.

Phillip Jacob, Steven Katwiremu and Francois Rugumbuka were all easy winners after their opponents offered to step down.
