Editor,Allow me to respond to a story that appeared in The Sunday Times, August 12, titled "94 foreigners get Rwandan citizenship”. Over the last 18 years, Government of Rwanda has achieved a lot and been able to unite the people of Rwanda.I was delighted to read in the same newspaper that the prevailing peace and zero tolerance to corruption were the driving force for foreigners to want to become Rwandan citizens.Rwanda stood firm and put in place anti-graft bodies to help fight corruption. This has worked well. Corruption destroys and hampers economic development.I get encouraged when I read in the papers that people who mismanage public funds get punished. We don’t have room for corrupt people in Rwanda and there is doubt the new citizens will indeed live in peace.Good governance is definitely taking the country to great heights and with the stringent policies and procedures introduced by the Government of Rwanda, each and every state institution audited, will soon come out with a clean slate.Enid MutambaNyagatare
