1     Kulhavy     CZE     1:29:072     Schurter     SUI     1:29:083     Fontana     ITA     1:29:3239    Niyonshuti    RWA     1:42:46For Rwanda, the 2012 London Olympic Games ended in almost similar fashion as they started with no medal(s) and nothing so fancy for the 11 millions Rwandans back home to cheer about.After the disappointment in swimming, judo,  men’s 10,000m, women and men’s marathon, all eyes were on Adrien Niyonshuti, who was making his debut in the Olympics Mountain Bike racing, but he could finish 39th of the 40 competitors, who finished to the race. 50 started the race but 10 did not finish.The team Rwanda clocked one hour, 42 minutes and 46 seconds in a grueling race that was won by Czech Republic’s Jaroslav Kulhavy.Kulhavy overtook Swiss world number one Nino Schurter, who took silver one second behind. Italian Marco Aurelio Fontana took bronze, 25 seconds off the pace.Niyonshuti’s not so good performance was the icing on the cake for Rwanda team, which has never won an Olympic medal after the inevitable early exits of Jackson Niyomugabo, Alphonsine Agahozo (Swimming), Yannick Sekamana (Judo), Robert Kajuga (10,000m), Claudette Mukasakindi and Jean Pierre Mvuyekure (Marathon).
