Editor,This letter is with reference to the lead story in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled "DR Congo talks open in Kampala”With several Heads of State scheduled to attend the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) in the Ugandan capital Kampala, we sincerely hope and pray for a peaceful solution to the ongoing crisis which has arisen due to renewed violence in parts of Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).Rwanda, as a nation, has always stood for peace and stability. The doubts raised and the aspersions cast on the country by certain organisations have been countered exceptionally well by the Government. It has been proved, without a doubt, that the concerns raised against Rwanda, were based on flimsy and inaccurate data.I do believe that the people of Rwanda and all the peace loving people, throughout the world, will join me in wishing the ICGLR every success in finding a peaceful solution to the ongoing crisis, which has already seen thousands of Congolese fleeing across the borders into Rwanda and Uganda.Clarence Fernandes
