Editor,I read in The Sunday Times, August 5, that all unauthorised buildings in Eastern Province districts will be demolished. I think this move will send out a lesson to many people who want to build houses without seeking approval from concern authorities.However, I want to appeal to authorities to carry out this exercise properly. May be we need to give these people enough time to relocate. Also, local leaders must explain why people build and complete the structures without being stopped. I think such leaders are irresponsible and are equally to blame for the mess.Illegal structures seem to be everywhere and the exercise should go beyond the Eastern Province.Hodali Biraboneye
