Kiyovu coach Baptiste Kayiranga has penciled in a mid-table finish as his main target for next season’s national football league. The new season is expected to start on September 15.The former Rayon Sport winger and coach signed a two-year deal with the club this week but does not want to put his players under so much pressure before the season kicks off. Kiyovu finished in 5th position last season."Our major aim next season is to use many young Rwandan players in the team so my mission will be to stabilise the team before thinking of winning trophies."Finishing in mid-table is a realistic target for us,” Kayiranga said but refused to divulge how much he would be earning in monthly wages. The Green and White outfit is also in contract negotiations with four of their first team players namely; skipper Eric Serugaba, winger Jabir Mutarambirwa, Fiston Namugenda and Jean Pierre Maombi. Once one of the biggest clubs in the country, the Nyamirambo based side has lost its allure, and last won a league title in 1993.Kiyovu has won three league trophies and 2 league cups since its foundation in 1964 but the club’s Secretary General Jean Marie Nsengiyuva thinks "the club will have a title winning side by 2015.”
