Antoinne Rutsindura has resigned as Rayon Sports head coach just a week after guiding the club to second place in 2006/7 Primus National League season.

His resignation has comes a surprise to the club administration and the fans alike and it is a big blow to them considering that he was their fourth coach in just one season.

Rutsindura who talked to Times Sport yesterday said that his resignation was personal and had no influence or conflicts with any of the club authorities.

"I made my decision to resign personally and no one has influenced that decision,” Rutsindura admitted to Times Sport before adding that "more about my resignation will be known next week.”

The former Zebra and AS-Kigali coach became Rayon’s coach at the beginning of the league second round in late July.

He guided the club to second place finish, level with champions APR on 59 points, but with an inferior goal difference.

In his three-month tenure at the club, the charismatic tactician won seven, drawn three and lost one league games respectively.

Recognized by the national football federation, Rutsindura has attended various CAF and Fifa coaching courses in Congo Brazzaville, Senegal and France.
