Sitting volleyballAug 30Iran vs RwandaAug 31Brazil vs RwandaSep 2Rwanda vs ChinaWHILE the Rwandan Olympic team is faltering in the 2012 London Olympic Games, the National Paralympics Committee is targeting to win at least three medals in the Paralympics Games that start on August 28.Rwanda will send fourteen athletes, including 11 players of the sitting volleyball team, Hemans Muvunyi and Theoneste Nsengimana in Athletics and Theogne Hakizimana in power lifting. According to the Secretary General of the National Paralympics Committee, Célestin Nizeyimana, winning three medals is a feasible target. "We are targeting medals in either the 400 and 800m races (which will be run by Hemans Muvunyi) and also believe (Theoneste) Nsengimana (1500m) or (Theogne) Hakizimana (Power lifting) can win us medals,” Nizeyimana told this paper yesterday as the athletes intensified preparations. Muvunyi was the only Rwandan to win a medal (gold) in the All Africa Games in Maputo-Mozambique last year.The Rwandan team will leave for London next Saturday and will have a two week training camp before the Games begin.Rwanda last won a medal in their debut games in the 2004 Paralympics games that took place in Athens-Greece when Jean Dieu Nkundabera won bronze in the T46 800m race.Below are the fixtures of the Individual categories Dates Time Names EventsSep 1 11:30 T.
