Editor, I read in Tuesday’s issue of The New Times a story titled "Africa losing billions through multinationals”. That multinational corporations operating in Africa have involved in illicit transfer of most of the $ 1.5 trillion they make in Africa each year back to the developed countries, is an open secret. But before we point fingers at multinationals' illicit transfer of monies out of Africa, lets investigate the amount of monies illicitly taken out of Africa by Africans, usually people in higher echelons of powers. They hide it in European banks. Yet this is good money enough to eradicate poverty in Africa in 20 years, if put to better use. The multinationals you are talking about know very well about this phenomena and that is why they are doing the same perhaps. Africans have no business holding other people accountable if they are not accountable themselves. Abdu Kaddu Kampala
