Editor, Diana Mpyisi’s piece “Some positive reporting in Africa, please” was spot on. It was well balanced and raised serious issues. It is time for us to take control of our own image instead of leaving it in the hands of foreign media.
Editor, Diana Mpyisi’s piece "Some positive reporting in Africa, please” was spot on. It was well balanced and raised serious issues. It is time for us to take control of our own image instead of leaving it in the hands of foreign media.People tend to absorb whatever is being fed to them by the media about our continent without critically analysing it. I believe a collective consciousness has to happen across the African continent on how to have some sort of influence on what’s being said about us without being defensive about it.We must shed light on the exciting good things that are happening in Africa like the fact that 7 out of 10 fasted growing economies in the world are African. hose are the kind of things we need to focus on, so we can instill confidence in ourselves and build investors confidence at the same time.
