Rwanda does not benefit from DRC chaos

Editor, Allow me to add my voice on the accusations that Rwanda is supporting rebels fighting the Kinshasa government. The Rwandan military fought the worst battle against the genocidal regime more than 18 years ago, and went on to restore stability in a country that had been mired by injustices and divisionism for over 30 years.

Editor,Allow me to add my voice on the accusations that Rwanda is supporting rebels fighting the Kinshasa government. The Rwandan military fought the worst battle against the genocidal regime more than 18 years ago, and went on to restore stability in a country that had been mired by injustices and divisionism for over 30 years. If there is any country which does not wish for instability in the region or elsewhere in the world it’s Rwanda based on its past experience. That is why the country has joined the international peacekeeping missions – to help protect lives. My suggestion is that the west should let the DRC and the close neighbours and region try to solve the latest crisis in the country’s east.Rwanda and DRC have worked together in the recent past and I don’t think they cannot rescue their relationship. They have even previously mounted joint operations against negative forces, specifically the FDLR militia who are largely blamed for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. It is important to understand that Rwanda is not benefiting from the latest chaos because it is better off with a safe eastern DRC.SD
