Editor,I wish to respond to a letter published in The New Times, July, 28, titled "Building apartments is a good idea”. Of course, some people view this idea as foreign and imposed on us. I think apartments are a brilliant idea in terms of space optimisation, but there is a hidden cost of stacking people on top of each other in a confined space. The "Project” in the US and Council Tower Blocks in the UK are being pulled down because of social problems arising from this style of housing.Arthur
