Local designer to launch fashion show

Fashion lovers will have a chance to sample various types of fashion designs after local designer Joselyne Umutoni Uwase, announced the launch of a fashion show slated to take place at Kigali Serena Hotel on August 5 under the theme: “Rwanda clothing summer show”.

Fashion lovers will have a chance to sample various types of fashion designs after local designer Joselyne Umutoni Uwase, announced the launch of a fashion show slated to take place at Kigali Serena Hotel on August 5 under the theme: "Rwanda clothing summer show”. Speaking to The New Times, Uwase, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Rwanda Clothing Home Ltd, – a fashion design firm, said the event would introduce new products to the fashion industry. She explained that it will inspire and promote fashion wear especially through creativity based on the African culture. "I am bringing 15 professional models and we want to expose our unique, quality and conscious design not only in Rwanda but in the region,” said Uwase.She observed that the event will be one of the biggest marketing ventures, saying she would showcase 50 different outfits, illustrating 50 different styles of African print with European cuts.Organisers said the demonstrable creativity at the fashion show illustrates Rwanda`s beauty as well as her culture.The collection will feature clothing for both men and women, including evening gowns, weekend designs as well as holiday clothes and office costumes.The show is sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, and Industry as well as that of Sports and Culture, among others.
