Editor,It’s interesting to learn that members of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies set up a joint committee to streamline issues in the draft anti-tobacco bill which seeks to control tobacco associated illnesses.That is a good step Rwanda is making and hopefully when the bill becomes law, people will not continue to smoke promiscuously.The effects of smoking on human health are serious and, in many cases, deadly. There are chemicals in cigarettes, hundreds of which are toxic.The ingredients in cigarettes affect everything from the internal functioning of organs to the efficiency of the body’s immune system. The effects of cigarette smoking are destructive and widespread.
