Prime Minister Dr Pierre Damien Habumuremyi has urged Rwandan business people to consider international trade fairs as an opportunity to promote their products as well as expand their market base.He was yesterday officially opening the 15th International Trade fair at Gikondo Expo Grounds, which ends on August 8."This expo is not only about selling, it should be an occasion to demonstrate new technologies, innovations as well as learning from these regional and international exhibitors on how to improve your produce,” he told the local exhibitors.He advised them to explore regional markets and consider participating in other international trade fairs.The fair is organised by the Private Sector Federation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, under the theme: Providing the perfect gateway towards achieving effective EAC integration.”François Kanimba, the Minister of Trade and Industry, affirmed the government’s commitment to support the informal sector seen as key to the development of the regional economies, and appealed to east African countries to provide conducive business environments.Claudine Mukamurenzi, one of the visitors to the Expo, explained why she likes exhibitions."Products here are always cheap that’s why I came to purchase in large quantities.” She was interested in beverages.
