Editor, I read with keen interest a story regarding the opening of Butaro Cancer Centre which will not only serve Rwanda but the region as a whole. This is really great for everybody.

Former US President Bill Clinton tours Butaro Hospital last week. The New Times / File.

Editor,I read with keen interest a story regarding the opening of Butaro Cancer Centre which will not only serve Rwanda but the region as a whole. This is really great for everybody.

Testimonies from Evelyn Kamagaju, the former auditor General, the doctors, donors and supporters of the fight against cancer, especially Breast cancer were indeed music to my ear and deep joy to my heart. I am 18- year old and Breast cancer survivor. I am now the founder of Breast Cancer Initiative in East Africa and Committed to use the rest of my life to bring awareness and education about cancer to all women in East Africa. We now have an opportunity to unite, own this burden, become each other’s keeper and spread the news. Early Detection is the Best Protection. Philippa Kibugu-Decuir---------------------------------------------------Editor,This is a dream come true! I am sending the biggest THANK YOU to the former US President, Bill Clinton, President Paul Kagame, donors and all those who contributed towards making Butaro Cancer Center a reality! This gesture reminds me of my Favourite Quote that says: "Success is adding importance to your life and Significance is adding value to another life.”  For Bill Clinton, thank you for choosing to be significant in Rwanda as you have been elsewhere.God Bless you.Bill
