National football federation, Ferwafa, have less than two months to secure sponsorship for the national football league which is penciled to start in September.Ferwafa’s CEO Michel Gasingwa, told this paper yesterday that unless there is any changes, the 2012/2013 league season will start on September 15, which will be a Saturday."Unless something comes up, the league should start in mid September. We are still sourcing for sponsorship because the deal with Bralirwa has run out,” Gasigwa told Times Sport.Bralirwa signed a Rwf335m deal with Ferwafa three years ago which ended last season but the football governing body is now keen to bring on board many companies to increase the package for the top flight league to avert the many financial constraints local clubs face every the other season.Ferwafa officials are also exploring ways of bringing on board Africa’s premier sports pay per view television, Supersport to air the top flight league like they for the Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa leagues.Last season, Ferwafa invited Supersport’s head for Africa Gary Rathbone to watch the local league and according to sources, he (Rathbone) "was very impressed” with the football in the country.APR won the league last season, with Police and Kiyovu coming second and third respectively. There are twelve league sides in the top flight which include: APR, Rayon Sport, Police, Isonga, Marines, Amagaju, Mukura, Etincelles, AS Kigali, La Jeunesse, Musanze and Muhanga.
