The title is ours to lose, says APR’s Nshuti

Striker Innocent Nshuti believes that the title will be APR's to lose with his side leading the final sprint to winning the league title for the fourth time in a row.

Nshuti was a hat trick hero as the military side thrashed Rwamagana City 4-1 at Bugesera stadium on Sunday to go a win away from clinching their 21st league title.

After putting up a man of the match performance that inspired APR back to the league summit of the Primus National League, Nshuti expressed his confidence that the title is only APR’s to lose.

"We only have to win our final fixture to retain the title. We need to be more careful and win this match if we are to claim it,” said the striker.

"This will be a historic achievement after everyone wrote us off among title contenders, and now we are back at the top of the drawing board," he added

However, before the end of the first half, APR FC got the 3rd goal scored by Yannick Bizimana while Nshuti netted his third and fourth goal for the club in the 90th minute.

Sunday’s victory moved Ben Moussa’s side back to the league table on goal difference with the army side now tied on 60 points with Kiyovu dropped to second after a shock 1-0 defeat to Sunrise at Nyagatare Stadium.

The league leaders have to make no mistake and get nothing but a win over Gorilla FC in their final league game to be crowned champions with their goal difference looking far from possible for Kiyovu to chase.

"After winning against Rwamagana City, our next mission is to beat Gorilla FC to sum up our season with a title. That&039;s our bigger ambition," Nshuti noted

Although it looks unlikely, a defeat or a draw for APR would blow their last-minute chance of clinching the title as long as Kiyovu or Rayon Sports win their matches against Rutsiro or Sunrise respectively.
