Amavubi Stars fans’ club president Richard Gahonzire told Times Sport yesterday that fans have been drawn from APR, Kiyovu, Atraco and Rayon Sport football clubs to purposely back the Amavubi team in their campaign to overturn the 0-4 goal deficit over Sudan on Saturday.
"These fans will be donned in the same costumes that resemble the Amavubi team uniform and their task would be to cheer our players throughout the match,” Gahonzire said.
Gahonzire further added that on match day, there is going to be a car going through the streets of Kigali mobilizing people to come and cheer the national team.
However, Gahonzire also sued to the occasion to appeal to people of goodwill and well-wishers to back their (fans) cause in the interest of the nation.
According to Gahonzire, the costumes, T-shirts and banners to mention but a few will be available to willing fans during the 2010 World/Africa Cup qualifiers where Rwanda entertains Mauritania in the opener on May 30 in Kigali.
