Editor,No doubt the Butaro Cancer Centre will come in handy. It is so awesome and terrific that Rwanda has acquired such a facility, which will benefit the entire east African region, and Africa, as a whole.How many people in Rwanda can afford to travel abroad to seek treatment? Where one lives should not determine whether she lives or dies. This centre is an answer to these two questions, among many others. The Butaro Cancer Centre is indeed a manifestation that hope is landing in Rwanda for cancer patients. On behalf of all those suffering from cancer, I sincerely congratulate those who are making cancer screening, treatment, support through palliative care and study/ training possible in Rwanda.
