It’s about four women who escape the sacred walls of the convent.  When they are out each encounters circumstances that had led them into hiding away from the real world in the first place. The four women include; Lucia the proud survivor harboring a murderous secret from the savage clan wars of Sicily while Graciella is still guilty of a youthful sin she recklessly committed; Megan came to the convent as an orphan in search of refuge from the unsafe arms of a defiant Basque rebel and Teresa is a believer who is haunted by a faith that mocks her with silence. When the four women leave their innocence behind, they barely knew that they were going to venture into a world that would unexpectedly change their destiny.  Sidney Sheldon, the Academy Award-winning American author of The Sands of Time, died at the age of 89 on January 30, 2007. He is the seventh best selling writer of all time.
