London 2012 Paralympics GamesAug 30Iran vs RwandaAug 31Brazil vs RwandaSep 2Rwanda vs ChinaSep 3Bosnia vs RwandaWITH just over three weeks before the national sitting volleyball team leaves for the London 2012 Paralympic Games, the players are yet to start residential training, something that has left the chairman of the National Paralympics Committee Dominique Bizimana riling.Bizimana, who is also part of the sitting volleyball team that will compete in the week long tournament, says poor preparations is likely to affect the team’s chances of posting impressive performances on its maiden appearance."The players are currently in non-residential training, which is not good for a team preparing for an event like the Paralympics Games,” a visibly livid Bizimana told Times Sport on Tuesday. The sitting volleyball team trains three times a week and the National Paralympics Committee foots their transport, something that also bothers Bizimana. He added, "NPC provides transport to the players to come for training, but since some of them don’t have any side income, we are not sure if they can even afford regular meals at their homes.”The Ministry of Sports and Culture released money for teams’ preparations but while other teams used their allocations to for residential training, NPC used theirs to travel to Holland to a training camp. The team is slated to leave on August 11 for UK where they will continue training before the opening tie on August 30 against defending champions Iran.Rwanda was handed a tricky group in the London 2012 Paralympics Games after being drawn against sitting volleyball champions Iran.
