FERWAFA officials have confirmed Amavubi U-20 will play a friendly match against their Nigerian counterparts on July 24 in Kigali as both teams prepare for the 2013 African U-20 Championship qualifying matches.Rwanda plays Mali, while Nigeria takes on Tanzania on the weekend of July 27-29.Richard Tardy’s team flew to Tanzania on Friday where they are scheduled to play two friendly matches against the hosts.Nigeria have confirmed they will play the match against Rwanda on their way to Tanzania."NFF have confirmed the friendly match which will be played on the 24 of this month in Kigali. The match will be a good test for our team which plays a very good Mali team,” Ferwafa’s Chief Executive Officer Michel Gasingwa told Sunday Sport.Amavubi will have to be at their best if they dream of appearing in the 2013 U-20 African Youth Championship in Algeria. Mali was ranked 4th in the last edition in South Africa and participated in the last FIFA U-20 world Cup in Colombia.Eight teams that come out on top of two legged ties of the qualifying round will qualify for the Africa Youth Championship which will be staged in Algeria next year. The semi-finalists in the tournament will qualify for the 2013 FIFA U-20 world Cup in Turkey.Meanwhile, the team is expected to be without the two of their best players Andrew Buteera and Nirisarike Saolomon for the Tanzania friendlies. While Buteera is unavailable due to ligament injury he sustained in the last year CECAFA senior Cup, Nirisarike is being given a chance to establish himself in his new team, Antwerp FC in the Belgium second division.
