Ngoma – Eastern Provincial Governor, Odette Uwamariya, has called on grandaunds of the Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Education of Kibungo (INATEK) to utilise their acquired skills and knowledge to unlock agricultural potential in the area.She made the appeal yesterday while addressing 922 students who graduated with degrees in various courses.The graduation ceremony, which was held in Kibungo town, Ngoma district, was attended by several government officials and scholars across the country.She further challenged them to assist rural farmers to formulate tangible projects that could be financed by banks."We expect you to fill the gaps in the agriculture sector...you have the tools vital in developing rural agriculture. Farmers’ cooperatives are looking at benefitting from your skills...it is high time you thought about creating jobs too,” she said.The Minister of Education, Dr. Vincent Biruta also called on the graduands to employ acquired skills to develop the nation and live up to the nation’s expectations, adding that they formed the most key resource the country could rely on."You should continue being guided by strong values and remain focused. You need commitment, discipline and professionalism at all levels to serve the province and the nation. Human resource is our power, which is why we invest in education,” he said.The students’ representative thanked the government for offering a conducive environment for all Rwandans to access educationHe challenged fellow graduands to aspire to further their education and ready themselves to compete in the job market. "Graduations are special moments when all students look forward to after hard work and the promise that comes with successful completion of any formal course. The studies are over, we have the certificates and are free to do what appertains to the courses we undertook,” he noted.INATEK is a private high learning institution started in 2003.
